FSX Royal Navy CVE And Wildcat Pack. The Attacker-Ruler class lend-lease escort carriers comprised the largest class of aircraft carriers operated by the Royal Navy; some 30+ ships, and the Grumman/GM Martlet/Wildcat was covered in glory in FAA service, a history that is almost ignored in the FS universe. This package of ship and aircraft repaints is a gestalt entity project, the first historicaly accurate project undertaken by the spontaniously formed Retro Carriers Project, with a substantial amount of research to try and produce repaints for the ships and aircraft that are as accurate as possible within the constraints of the model files available. The color schemes of the ships and aircraft were reproduced from photo evidence, admiralty camouflage drawings, Resinshipyards and Vallejo paint charts, IPMS and Squadron-signal publications. The work was done by hand with DXTBMP, W7MSPaint, Tmodel veiwer. A generic second world war frigate is included as an escort, converted from a scenery object by Mark Schimmer. The base files are Phil Crowther's FM2 Wildcat/CVE package, and the original Mark Fitch Cassablanca CVE, CASABLNC.ZIP The ships represented are HMS Trumpeter, HMS Searcher, SEA, HMS Puncher, HMS Attacker, the aircraft are from 1941-45, representing 802, 846, 881 and 882 NAS Fleet Air Arm.
